Mochi

March 2026

Mochi, our prettiest girl, has left us with broken hearts and an empty house due to her passing on March 28th, 2026. She joins her brother Manju (who passed Aug 13, 2025) -now the Terror Twins are reunited again. She was born June 6, 2007, passed with the assistance of Lifting Stars on the laps of Mom and Dad at home..and we miss her terribly. Our house is so devastatingly quiet without her presence, and she sure had one. Mochi went by many nicknames over the years: Fluffinstuff, Mochi Moch, Mochi- Moo, Moof, Mochi-No, Licky Martin, Sassypants, and Tiny Tiger. She was a lover of the pretty boys, licker of foreheads, and always up for a snuggle and pettins. She was the spokescat for smoked salmon, had an addiction to italian oil packed tuna, absolutely loved company and her fan club dearly, and you couldn’t not pet that luxuriant tail!! She made many people fall in love with her charm, her sassiness, and her sweetness. (We’re ignoring the fact that she could, on occasion, be bitey, but consider that part of her charm too.) The past 7 months were hard for Mochi with the loss of her brother, hearing loss, health issues and having to look after the two hoomans on her own..but she did it with aplomb and kept her Mom and Dad in line. And speaking of Dad, Mochi was the apple of her Dad Nicholas’ eye..she would wait for him to come home every day, always sit on his lap to watch TV, and loved to clean his beard. ..he was her little girl. Mochi’s Mom Sandi spent a good portion of every day carrying around the prettiest girl, brushing her beautiful fur, and spoiling her rotten. Mochi had many jobs in our house- professional lap warmer, door greeter, nursey-cat, alarm clock and morning snuggler. She also loved to get in your face if you attempted to read, use your laptop, or pay attention to anything other than Her Royal Fuzziness. And she was loved by many- in person and online, as her Mom posted about her (and her brother Manju) a lot, complete with photographs. She was often seen as a guest in zoom meetings, and while the rest of the world shut down that was probably her favorite thing because it meant Mom and Dad had more time to be at home and pay attention to her!
She also never complained in the past year with all the vet visits, the medications, the sub-Q fluids, arthritis, and the pain she was dealing with on a daily basis. Our tough little Moof was also loved by her vets and techs alike.
There will never be another fuzzy monster like our Mochi. Our little Moof, our Tiny Tiger, Our Mochi-Moo. We were so lucky to have you in our lives for almost 19 years…and we love you so much.
