Gracie “Petunia”
June 22, 2011 – July 2nd, 2025

Her name was Gracie, but it was “Gracie Petunia” if she was ever in trouble … which was never!

Gracie was an SPCA rescue from the streets of Prince George and was then transferred to the Vancouver SPCA location. On June 22, 2011, Gracie chose our family and came to live with her two moms for 14 wonderful years. We estimated she was a year old before we adopted her, so Gracie was 15 years old when she passed away 💕

Described as sweet and gentle by all who knew and loved her, Gracie’s fur was as soft as whipped cream and her eyes were as blue as the bluest lake. She had a soulful meow and a sweet and gentle purr that could melt your heart. Gracie lived a charmed life with a safe backyard where she loved basking in the sun during the day and catching bugs during the bugging hour at dusk. Her fur brother and sister will miss her, but Indie and Gracie are now both over the Rainbow Bridge picking up where they left off, having pretend boxing matches and then sleeping side by side in front of the fireplace in their “In Box/Out Box” beds.

We have such gratitude for all Gracie’s caring veterinarians and specialists, and especially to the Lifting Stars staff and Dr. Jeff whose gentle way helped guide us through our last loving goodbye with sweet and gentle Gracie.

We say we rescued Gracie but we can’t help but wonder, who really rescued whom?

Until we meet again 🌈
