Indie

November 2024

Indie, our beloved black Labrador, passed away last spring at the age of 14. From the moment he bounded into our lives at 10 weeks old, he filled our days with love, laughter, and an endless supply of playful energy, mischief and drool. He was, without a doubt, the best boy and my best friend.

When we moved to Canada in 2013, Indie came along without hesitation. A true Canadian at heart, he embraced the snowy Edmonton winters with enthusiasm and was always ready to join us on whatever adventure came next.

In typical retriever fashion, Indie never greeted anyone empty-mouthed—he always had a toy at the ready to share his excitement. His loyalty shone brightest as a mama’s boy, happiest when he could be by his mom’s side, especially on her shifts at the vet clinic.

In his later years, Indie formed an unlikely and heartwarming bond with Mary, our 23-year-old tabby cat. Wherever Mary was, Indie wasn’t far behind—though his intentions weren’t entirely pure, as he loved sneaking her food whenever he could!

Indie was more than a pet; he was family, a constant source of joy and unconditional love. His absence leaves a hole in our hearts, but his spirit lives on in every cherished memory.

Rest easy, sweet boy. You’ll always be deeply loved and never forgotten
