Kuki started her life in the streets of Tanzania. She came into our lives the summer of 2015, shortly after her amputation and she travelled back to Canada with us in January 2016.
Kuki loved everyone she met. When she heard a passerby say “Aww” as we were walking down the street, she knew it was for her! But her people always brought out the full body wiggles, until of course her old body wouldn’t let her
any more. But even then she always found a way to let you know she wanted a good snuggle. It was always snuggleoclock according to Kuki.
The other big joy in Kuki’s life was of course food. Particularly fish. She loved her fish treats. One time she chased a man on the beach after he’d caught a fish and hopped on his bike to leave.
Kuki was such a sweet, calm, and gentle being. She took everything as it came, and always seemed to feel safe and at ease. We only ever heard her bark twice in the 11 years we had with her. Though, when she would get really excited, she would make Chewbacca sounds.
She brought an immeasurable amount of love and joy into the world. Kuki was our best friend and we’re so lucky to have known her. We will miss her dearly.
We love you Kuki. You are perfect.
